  • Do I need a referral for Speech Therapy?
Generally, you can book an initial Speech Therapy appointment without needing a referral. This allows you to contact a speech therapist directly to set up a session. However, if you want to use Medicare to help cover the cost, you'll need a referral from your doctor. There are also other funding options that might require a referral. For instance, if your child's teacher has concerns about their speech and communication skills, they might write a referral letter. Bringing this letter to the speech therapist can be very helpful for the initial assessment.

  • What is an Occupational Therapist?
Occupational Therapists (OT’s) help people at all stages of life, with a focus on increasing their participation in the things they need to do, and the things they want to do. • How do I know if I need an Occupational Therapist?
If you or a loved one struggle with routine tasks, feel that your home environment could be safer, or need support adjusting to a physical condition, occupational therapy might be beneficial. A consultation with one of our therapists can provide a detailed assessment and recommendations.
